DC Members invited by UN Geneva

Diplomatic Council Members are cordially invited to a literary encounter on contemporary writings on migration on

The event is organized in partnership and with the contribution of the International Organization of La Francophonie.

Tthe United Nations develops multiple projects worldwide as part of the “TOGETHER” initiative, adopted by the UN Member States during the Summit on refugees and migrants that took place in September 2016. A Diplomatic Council Delegation took part in this Summit. The initiative aims to defend respect, dignity and security for migrants and refugees, fight against xenophobia and discrimination, and work towards the implementation of Global Compacts on migration and refugees that should be presented during the next Summit in New York in September 2018.

In Geneva, the United Nations Information Service has been working with the Lycée International de Ferney-Voltaire (France) on a one-year project aimed at engaging young people to promote acceptance, respect, dignity and security of migrants. In this framework, the literary encounter of 12 March will aim at discussing opportunities and challenges of integrating migrants in recipient societies.

The event will be opened by UN Geneva Director-General, Mr. Michael Møller, and will be followed by a discussion. Diplomatic Council Members interested to join please contact the DC Secretariat General.
