In addition to the Individual and Corporate Membership which can be prolonged yearly, the Diplomatic Council also offers 2 categories of  LIFELONG memberships. Instead of paying the annual fee, a one-time registration fee is charged for the lifelong membership which ensures a membership as long as you live (no further annual fees are due). There are two types of lifelong memberships:

  • DC Business Ambassador (same ranking with a DC Ambassador)
  • Honorary Consul Circle Membership (same ranking with a Honorary Consul)

There is no need to be an accredited diplomat in order to apply for the Lifelong membership and the related DC Status Card, however, the approval by the Council of Ambassadors is mandatory. In the event your application is rejected, your registration fee will be fully returned to you.

* Once you have settled your registration fee, you will become a lifelong member with all benefits. There are no further costs such as the annual membership fee. The status acquired is documented with your DC Status Card. Your status card is not transferrable and inheritable. The card will lose its validity in the event of a valid conviction by the International Court of Justice in The Hague or by any other valid conviction by a national court.

Important remark: the diplomatic status is no legal term but is based on international customary laws that the states have been practising over centuries. Your status as a DC Business Ambassador or DC Honorary Consul Circle Member does not mean that you are assigned to a certain country which again means you cannot claim protection against sovereign measures or jurisdiction. Moreover, you do not benefit from tax exemption from any country. Regardless of your DC Ambassador status – and this applies to all accredited diplomats as well – you have to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

The nomination to a DC Business Ambassador Lifelong is valid as long as you live. The DC ambassador has the highest status within the Diplomatic Council. Thus he is awarded the DC Gold Card and will become a DC ambassador for the branch/sector of his choice. Changing the branch/sector is also possible at a later time.

In the event your application is rejected, your registration fee will be fully returned to you. If you are already a DC member with another status, your prior status will become invalid with your appointment to a DC Business Ambassador starting with the next calendar year and with settlement of your registration fee which amounts to              € 100.000 (no further annual fees). Until the end of your life you are a welcomed member with the highest rank within the Diplomatic Council. In case your application for a DC Business Ambassador is refused, you will maintain your current member status (provided you are a member).

Once you are nominated and approved, you are a DC Business Consul with a lifelong status. Your ranking is comparable to the ranking of a Honorary Consul. While a Honorary Consul represents a country, you will represent a branch/sector of your choice (can be amended at a later time). You will be awarded the DC Gold Card.

In the event your application is rejected, your registration fee will be fully returned to you. If you are already a DC member with another status, your prior status will become invalid with your appointment to a DC Business Honorary Consul starting with the next calendar year and with settlement of your registration fee which amounts to € 50.000 (there are no further annual fees). Until the end of your life you are a welcomed member with the highest rank within the Diplomatic Council. In case your application for a DC Honorary Consul is refused, you will maintain your current member status (provided you are a member). Upgrading from a Business Consul to a Business Ambassador can be requested at a later time.
