On February, 8th, the Austrian Embassy in Berlin, the diplomatic magazine diplo.news and the think tank Diplomatic Council will host the presentation of the book “Space Security – Extending European Defence into Space” at the Embassy. Published by the Diplomatic Council, the volume brings together the combined space expertise of 23 carefully selected authors.
The English-language event is specifically aimed at diplomats and accredited foreign correspondents from leading international media outlets.
The welcoming address will be delivered by the Austrian Ambassador, Dr Alexander Marschik, or proxy. The Secretary General of the Diplomatic Council, Hang Nguyen, will then introduce the Diplomatic Council, which holds UN Consultative Status with the United Nations.
The book will be presented by Prof. Dr Heinrich Kreft, Ambassador (ret.), a member of the editorial board. Outer space has evolved into a domain of strategic importance, both for economic growth and for defence. In his remarks, he will address the urgent challenges arising from this development and outline concrete measures Europe must take to safeguard its security and interests in space.
The subsequent question-and-answer session will be moderated by Gudrun Dometeit, Editor-in-Chief of diplo.news.
