New COVID-19 Detection & Containment System

The acute global corona crisis is becoming more and more threatening every day, which is why containing the spread of the virus is currently a top priority. Early detection of cases and the interruption of infection chains are crucial for success.

To effectively combat the Corona virus crisis, Diplomatic Council Corporate Member G2K Group offers an immediately available, holistic early detection and monitoring system using artificial intelligence, which is designed to contain and defeat the corona crisis as quickly as possible.

The COVID-19 Detection & Containment System (CDCS) follows an end-to-end approach from the detection of elevated body temperatures, registration of infected persons using a mobile application, retrograde contact tracing and dissemination analysis, and permanent monitoring of the current situation in a single system:

CHALLENGES

  • Difficult detection due to area-wide propagation
  • Interruption of the infection chains
  • Prevention of externalre-infections from incoming flights/trains/buses
  • Protection of risk groups suchassenior citizens
  • Maintenance of the healthcare system by protecting doctors and medical staff

SOLUTION WITH THE CDCS

  • Early detection by detecting fever values in crowds
  • Dissemination analysis for containment
  • Mobile checks on persons entering the country
  • Access control at retirement homes, kindergartens, primary schools etc.
  • Access control at hospitals, clinics, emergency medical facilities etc.

The detection is carried out in two different variants, which fit for different purposes of application: Automated fixed option and manual mobile option.

AUTOMATED FIXED OPTION

Use of stationary high-performance equipment capable of monitoring large crowds of people for symptoms (abnormal temperature)

A crowd of people is monitored for fever symptoms at strategic locations throughout the premises. If detected, the system alerts the user about the location and movement of the potentially infected person.

+  Automated and operator-free monitoring

+  Suitable for large and dense crowds of people moving freely

+  High efficiency

- Requires assembly measures first

Predestined for use in moving crowds at main hubs such as airports, train stations, highly frequented public places etc.

Predestined for access control to areas requiring protection, e.g. access to hospitals, entering & leaving airplanes, trains or buses etc.

MANUAL MOBILE OPTION

Use of a mobile app together with small symptom detection accessories for smartphones, enabling mobile use at bottlenecks.

• Coughing
• Shortness of breath
• Chest pain
• Headache •...
Optional mobile fever check

People are checked for symptoms separately by a medical officer,

before they are given permission to move on. The symptoms are recorded in a mobile app that also allows to do mobile fever checks if needed.

+  Ready for immediate use

+  Can be operated with a standard  smartphone

-  Not operator-free and automated

-  Requires prior separation of persons to be checked

REGISTRATION, ANALYSIS AND MONITORING

As soon as a person with fever values is detected by the system, he or she can be immediately screened to avoid contact with other people and thus prevent possible new infections, i.e. the interruption of the chain of infection.

The potentially infected person must now be registered and referred to a doctor or hospital for further specific diagnostic measures. The entire process is covered by a mobile G2K application.

Registration

Collection of master data and relevant movement information for contact tracing.

• Home address
• Workplace
• Close & regular contact persons
• Regularly used means of transport • Recent trips
• Recently visited places & events

Medical Allocation

The app allows to call up the utilization of medical facilities in real time. This allows first responders to immediately refer the patient to available locations for further examination or to arrange a doctor's home visit.

Recovery updates

Patients can inform the official authorities about their recovery progress via an online portal, transmit current temperature values and request help if necessary. This serves to relieve the health care system by saving resources and at the same time to ensure the well-being of the patients.

Central dissemination analysis and monitoring

The platform provides a constantly updated map of the situation and serves as a central monitoring, control and resource management tool for authorities and responsible persons to control the spread of the virus.

The collected data of the patients are aggregated in the SAB platform and analyzed with the help of artificial intelligence, which recognizes patterns and correlations between collected people and places. In addition, external databases can be integrated.

High Efficiency: It takes only one second that thermal camera can detect temperature of each person. Thus, no congestion will be made when passing through the site where temperature needs

The evaluation makes it possible to detect virus hotspots and distribution routes, as well as to identify other potentially infected persons.

The system is based on Diplomatic Council Corporate Member G2K's scalable IoT platform "Situational Awareness Builder" (SAB), which is already successfully used in several projects worldwide and sets standards in process automation and optimization, including security management. The G2K Group is a globally active innovation company with over seven years of expertise in the holistic correlation of IoT devices, systems, algorithms and other information sources as well as the intelligent analysis of large amounts of data using artificial intelligence.
