Evidence for Transformative Change: UNRISD Survey on Responses to Covid-19 and Vulnerable Communities

The United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) is interested in Diplomatic Council members` assessment of government policy responses to Covid-19, particularly from the perspective of groups that may be especially disadvantaged or left behind by the responses that governments are pursuing or not pursuing.

The full impacts of the pandemic are yet to be wholly felt in countries in the Global South. We hope to collect and quickly analyse this information from as many countries as possible in all regions, and use it to encourage policy responses that are more sensitive to the needs of vulnerable people and groups, so as to leave no one behind. We use the word “vulnerable” both broadly and flexibly, but it could (for example) include people who need additional or different support because of age, gender, disability, ethnicity, migrant status, location, or insecurity in work.

The synthesis and analysis of the information received will be made publicly available, although we will not identify any respondents in that analysis unless given explicit permission to do so.

Please respond to the survey for one country – the country where you are currently living, or a country where you are closely tracking what is happening. Answer all questions based on your observation/assessment of what is actually happening in that country. Use “N/A” if you don’t know or have no assessment of a particular intervention, and if you have nothing to elaborate for the open-ended questions.

This survey has 12 questions and will take you 10-15 minutes. The data collected in this survey are anonymous.
