In the press:

"This book is essential reading for anyone concerned with Europe's future. In a changing global order where Europe's fate must no longer be reliant on the actions of other world powers, we advocate for a proactive step towards building a capable and confident.

The book does not shy away from identifying the key challenges - whether in defence, cyber threats, or climate, to name a few. Each chapter, written by one of 19 distinguished authors who are specialists in their respective fields, offers concrete proposals for addressing these issues. The diverse ideas presented here may at times be controversial, but such debate is precisely what we need.

A robust public discourse and active citizen engagement are crucial in shaping our shared future. We owe this commitment to the next generations, to our children and grandchildren."

About the Event

Accordion Body

We, the Diplomatic Council, are launching the new book ‘Europe and the Emerging New Global Order’ at our New Year's Reception on February 5th, 2025 in Frankfurt am Main (Germany). Members and guests from around the world are cordially invited.

To secure your place, please register online: REGISTRATION:

Dress code: dark suit, chic attire or national costume.

Our New Year's meeting will take place at Villa Bonn in the heart of Frankfurt/Germany, which is already well known to many members. The Wilhelminian-style bourgeois palace from 1897 in Frankfurt's Westend is located on the park grounds at Siesmayerstraße 12 (60323 Frankfurt am Main, Germany). Despite its city centre location, Villa Bonn has sufficient parking spaces (free of charge). For those who arrive late and can no longer find a parking space there, the Palmengarten multi-storey car park is in the immediate vicinity.

Over an exquisite dinner – including corresponding wines, beer, water and coffee in the participation fee – we will certainly not only talk about Europe's role in a dramatically changing world order, but also about our personal hopes and plans for the New Year. As one guest praised last year: ‘An evening in a special atmosphere with excellent cuisine. The setting was so beautiful that everything else is quickly forgotten, it is a small, perfect world.’ Well, in 2025 everything is just as beautiful, but this year the ‘small world’ encompasses ‘the whole world’!
