High-level political forum on sustainable development
Convened under the auspices of the General Assembly, 18 and 19 September 2023
I. Our shared commitment
1. We, the Heads of State and Government and high representatives, have met at United Nations Headquarters in New York on 18 and 19 September 2023, at the Sustainable Development Goals Summit,1 to review progress and accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly marks a crucial milestone in the journey towards achieving the 2030 Agenda and the urgent need to put the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) back on track.
The Diplomatic Council belongs to the exclusive circle of partners of the Starnberger See Talks, which are organized by DC educational member Steinbeis Augsburg Business School. Other partners are Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich, which is also active in Southern Germany, and Invest AG, which specializes in financing companies in the DACH region.
As a unique network meeting, the Starnberger See Talks offer a trusting atmosphere for the exchange of ideas on relevant topics of our time. The focus is on family businesses, management boards and advisory boards.
It was a great evening, characterized by a keynote speech with a clear announcement by the Hungarian Ambassador Dr. Péter Györkös, with honorable awards for the authors of DC Publishing, excellently moderated by DC Secretary General Hang Nguyen, with substantial conversations in a relaxed atmosphere in an exclusive setting: the summer celebration of the Diplomatic Council.
As a professional filmmaker, our new DC member Christian Peschken did not miss the opportunity to capture the event in sound and vision in the style of a news broadcast. His film is as great as the event:
Below is the speech of the Hungarian Ambassador, Dr. Péter Györkös, as he delivered it at the DC Summer Celebration in Frankfurt, Germany on July 13, 2023. The speech is deliberately left unedited in lecture form so that everyone can make up their own minds about what was really said:
It was a great evening of joy experienced by the participants of the Diplomatic Council Summer Celebration 2023.
